The seas were calm again for the 2nd World Birding Center 2005 Texas Pelagic Trip. It was a beautiful day, and lots of critters seen.
A nice school of about 15 Black-tipped Shark were observed feeding on shrimp by-catch. There was also a good showing of cetaceans on this trip- Bottle Nosed Dolphin and spectacular views of 11 Sperm Whale (seen on 5 different occasions!), including 2 rather large bulls.
Many thanks to our 21 participants and our fabulous trip leaders who make this all possible: Eric Carpenter, Petra Hockey, Brad McKinney, Mike Overton, and Dwight Peake.
There are 3 more pelagic trips scheduled for this season: 17 Sept, 8 Oct, 5 Nov.
