TABLE 2): SEMI “FISHING PELAGICS” FROM 1976 – 1993

The majority of these “pelagic trips” were primarily Snapper or bottom where a number of birders rode along as passengers to see what pelagic birds they might find and most of them never made it beyond the shelf edge. Only a few of these trips ever made it beyond the shelf edge into true pelagic depth waters.

Sheriton Burr either organized or guided various birding clubs and Audubon Societies on an ad hoc basis on most of these primarily fishing trips out of Port Aransas from 1976 until 1991. He kept good, detailed and typed notes on each trip, that I was able to obtain a copy off through Chuck Sexton.
