2017 Texas Pelagics Schedule

Unfortunately all 4 trips scheduled for 2017 had to be cancelled due  to being way under subscribed. I will plan to schedule only 2 trips for 2018 in August and September. Please check back in early 2018 for more information on the details of these trips.

NEW FOR 2017:  For 2017 we am planning to run three trips from Port Aransas. The July tip from Port A in 2016 was an excellent trip. And since we are no longer able to charter the Osprey for the prime mid-summer pelagic season we will be running more trips from Port Aransas in the future. 

FARES:  We am offering an incentive to encourage seabirders to sign-up early as explained below. 

The REGULAR FARE, shown in the table below, applies to those who pay at any time up until 5 weeks in advance of the trip date. 

LATE FARE: If there is less than 5 weeks before the trip date the fare increases by $ 50 over regular fare. This deadline is because we need to commit to the charters by one month in advance of the trip.If we don’t have payments in hand by then from enough participants to cover the trip charter cost by this deadline we’ll have to cancel the trip, and no one likes to have that happen. So please plan ahead. If you can’t plan ahead than the price of deciding at the last minute is $50 extra. Please add $50 to the regular fare when you make your payment less than 5 weeks ahead. 

The table below reflects the “REGULAR FARE” for each trip.

PLEASE NOTE: In an effort to keep our fares as low as possible, despite ever increasing charter costs which our out of our control, we have made some changes to our fare schedule. We’ve eliminated the “Early Bird Fare” and now have just the Regular Fare and the Late Fare as explained above. All the leaders on the boat are also paying the Regular Fare. To break even at this fare I need 35 participants and leaders on every trip, which is about the average over the last 6 years. In the event that we have at least 30 participants but not 35, we will ask everyone if they would please pay a Supplemental Fare of up to $35 (if we are 5 short) to cover the charter cost shortfall so the trip can still proceed with a slightly smaller group. 

REGISTRATION: When you are ready to sign up click ‘Trip Sign-up’. Follow the instructions on the registration forms and mail it in with your payment. I have added a survey for everyone. It might help us to better meet the needs of our participants or even improve our trips.
